Free lacrosse clinics

Free lacrosse clinics will be open to children ages 8 to 18 years old from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and May 13 in Landstuhl, and April 23 on Pulaski Barracks. Registration is currently open. Ladies golf sign-ups

The Woodlawn Ladies Golf Association will sponsor a ladies golf sign-up from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. Ladies’ Day is every Tuesday, and there are both morning and early evening tee times. Play begins for the first session on April 4. April Fool’s Day Fun Run

Join the April Fool’s Day 5k Fun Run April 1 at the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg. 237. Wear your craziest hat for a chance to win a foolish prize. Beware of pranksters on the course, you could get wet! First 100 to sign up get a free T-shirt. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. the day of the run; the race begins at 10 a.m. Children under 12 are free; adults are $7. Dog and stroller friendly. Refreshments will be provided. Swim coach needed

The Kaiserslautern Kingfish Swim Team is seeking a new head coach who is available to start May 1. Potential candidates will be contacted by the Kingfish president, and interviews will take place the week of April 11 to 14. If interested, send your inquiry along with your resume to Coaches that are selected must be identified at the time of hiring if they are paid or volunteer. Changes cannot be made in a coach’s pay status unless approved by the coach and the board. Required qualifications include AED/CPR and first aid, ASCA Level 2 certified or above, extensive experience working with children and teenagers, strong background in competitive swimming and must have at least two years of supervisory experience.

Unit-level volleyball championship

Watch the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz volleyball championship game from 6 to 9 p.m. April 14 at Kleber Sports and Fitness Center on Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3235. Entry is free. The top six teams from the season league will participate. Awards will be given to the first and second teams, first place individual and most valuable player. The first and second place teams will advance to the Installation Management Command – Europe tournament.

Yoga Salutes Nonviolence

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and the Regional Health Command Europe’s SHARP Program is partnering up with U.S. Army Garrison Rhineland Pfalz Morale Welfare and Recreation in bringing the “Yoga Salutes Nonviolence” 108 Sun Salutation Challenge April 22 at Sembach Fitness Center. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness that sexual violence is not tolerated, to support survivors as they heal and to honor the people who diligently work every day to end interpersonal violence. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the event starts at 10:30 a.m. To register and receive times and locations, call or drop by the Massage and Yoga Studio on Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2899, or any Army Fitness Center. This is a free training for the event. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, pillow, blanket and the spirit of community.

Youth cheer, tumbling classes

SKIESUnlimited offers cheer and tumbling classes for youth, ages 6 to 18 years old. Classes help to improve strength, flexibility, jumps and tumbling. Classes are offered on a monthly basis at the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Special Events Center, Bldg. 237. Open to all branches of service. Karate Tech classes

Check out SKIESUnlimited Karate Tech classes. Karate Tech is the modern fusion of six traditional martial arts all in one. It provides a complete system of personal defense for youth ages 5 to 18 years old. Participants will learn confidence, body balance, perseverance, patience, self-mastery sparring and forms. Beginner and beginner-intermediate levels are offered at various times for various prices. Open to all branches of service. Parent exercise room

The Landstuhl and Sembach fitness centers each bring you an exercise room for parents that features the latest in cardio equipment and offers a play area for your little ones to safely play or watch movies while you work out. The exercise rooms are both open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. holidays. Youth basketball club

An open basketball club for youth ages 12 to 17 years old is held from 4 to 5 p.m. every Monday from September to June at the Realschule on Schernauer Strasse 31, Ramstein-Miesenbach, in the Sporthalle. Disc Golf at Pulaski Park

Outdoor Recreation now offers Disc Golf at Pulaski Park. Grab a team, pick up a Frisbee and take advantage of this interactive flying disc game that requires precision and accuracy. The brand-new Disc Golf course at Pulaski Park is open for public use. Frisbees may be rented from Outdoor Recreation, or you may bring your own. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes

SKIESUnlimited now offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in two different levels: Little Grapplers, ages 5 to 17 years old; and Bully Busters, ages 8 to 13 years old. Each level teaches basic self-defense techniques while instilling the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu foundational principles of leverage and control. Bully Busters focuses on a set curriculum of nonviolent, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based self-defense techniques that teach children to neutralize and negotiate with bullies. WELLBEATS™ now available

WELLBEATS™ programs are now available at all U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz fitness centers. Formerly known as Fitness On Request, WELLBEATS™ provides a safe place for newcomers to learn and master the fundamentals of dozens of classes, including yoga, Pilates, step, dance, cycling, kickboxing, strength training, pre- and post-natal and more. Classes are 35 to 50 minutes in length, and there is no cost. Classes may be reserved for Soldier physical training from 6 to 7:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays.
