News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany 
The traditional pre-Christmas arts and crafts exhibition at the Ramstein-Miesenbach culture and convention center, the Haus des Bürgers, will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
On Monday, Germans will observe St. Martin’s Day, and children and their parents will be seen walking in lantern processions throughout the KMC.
German Catholics observe the religious holiday “Allerheiligen,” or All Saints Day, today.
The Messeplatz fairgrounds in Kaiserslautern will turn into a big amusement park today to Oct. 28, when the city sponsors its traditional “Oktoberkerwe,” or October carnival.
Harvest time in Germany is also wine fest time. One of the highlights of the wine fest season is the annual German Wine Harvest Fest in Neustadt along the German Wine Street through Oct. 14.
The Rheinland-Pfalz Agricultural Chamber from Kaiserslautern will sponsor its annual farmers market Sunday in Ramstein-Miesenbach.
The wine growing community of Freinsheim will offer a culinary hike on its wine-hiking trail today to Sunday.
Bad Münster am Stein/Ebernburg will hold its 27th medieval market with jousting tournaments today through Sunday. The event with more than 100 stands and craftsmen will be located in the center of Ebernburg. The knights tournament will take place near the banks of the Nahe River, in front Rotenfels, a large, red, sandstone rock.
Each year in September, the “Latwerch Fest,” or plum butter fest, takes place in Morbach, a part of Niederkirchen. Organizer and local Hella Ullinger will open up her property from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday to invite interested guests to the traditional event.
