Looking for updated information regarding coronavirus and changes to base facilities? Visit https://www.ramstein.af.mil/COVID-19/

Motor vehicles registration update

Headquarters USAREUR-AF Registry of Motor Vehicles Effective will temporarily halt the issuance of temporary tags to personnel in the KMC Jan. 31-March 1. All temporary tags for Kaiserslautern will be processed through the Kapaun FRS. This change does not affect personnel with “BIR” plates as you must still process through the local Field Registration Station (FRS) for your community.

USAREUR License section

In compliance with host nation laws, instead of a $20 fee, it will increase to a $30 fee for the license. This applies to all licenses except the International Licenses.

Finance Walk-In Hours/ Base in-processing

Finance customer service walk-in hours will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in building 2108. The finance lobby will be used for base in-processing from 1-5 p.m. with Housing, Tricare and Finance. Post office changes —Electronic custom forms

Customers will now be required to provide electronic customs forms in order to ship out packages at the Northside Post Office and Kapaun Post Office. This is a huge step forward to decrease customer wait time in the facility prior to the start of the holiday season. Customers can create the electronic customs forms by visiting www.usps.com. Customers can choose to either (1) print the electronic customs form from their home or (2) by creating and printing the electronic customs form at the stations located in each Post Office’s lobby. How-To instructions will also be provided at each station.

ATTN: Those packing up, leaving the KMC

Many members wait too long to begin the household goods moving process, thereby causing additional stress and delays. The 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron Personal Property Office advises movers to call them at +49-631-536-7727 three weeks before moving to begin the booking process.

Retiree Activities Office

RAO is in need of a new director (volunteer position). If you have any retirees who work or volunteer within your groups who may be interested in this dynamic opportunity to serve our KMC retiree community, please have them contact the RAO at 86aw.rao@us.af.mil.
