Police Week events

In observation of Police Week, the following events are scheduled:

Today: 5K, 8 a.m. at Ramstein Southside Fitness Center.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., display of vehicles, weapons, sniper, as well as taser, raven and K-9 demonstrations. For details, call 480-1215.

Sunday: Police Week Luncheon, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at JR Rockers at Woodlawn on Ramstein. Guest speaker will be Lt. Col. Bryan Eckart.

May 15: Golf Scramble with shotgun at noon at Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. Fee is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. For details, call 493-4600.

Monday to Wednesday: Elementary Level Excellence in Competition Pistol, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  To sign up, email kellie.sawn@us.af.mil.

Tuesday: Battle of the Badges with combat comm relay, 100-meter Humvee push, 4-mile ruck team race, tug of war and obstacle course. Event introduction is 7 a.m. at the 435th Security Forces Squadron Compound, Bldg. 2249.

Current off-limits list

U.S. Forces personnel are prohibited from entering establishments or conducting business with the below firms, individuals and organizations, except as required by official business. U.S. Forces military members who violate this prohibition are subject to punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Civilians are cautioned these establishments have been declared off-limits to members of the armed forces because the commander has determined they threaten the health, safety, morale or welfare of service members.

Kindergraves ceremony

The German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern and Ramstein Area Chief’s Group will sponsor a kindergraves ceremony  at 3 p.m. May 20 at the Daenner Chapel on Daenner Kaserne. The event is in remembrance of 451 infants, who died between 1952 and 1972 and were buried in Kaiserslautern. A reception will follow after the ceremony.

Awards banquet

The 2016 U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Outstanding Airmen of the year Banquet will be 6 p.m. May 25 at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. For more information and reservations, call 480-6647 or 480-6857.

Office closures

The KMC Housing Office as well as the Furnishings Management Section will be closed May 25 due to German legal holidays, and May 29 due to Memorial Day.

Limited FMO delivery

The KMC Housing Office’s Furnishings Management Section will be closed for furniture delivery and pickup Thursday and May 19 due to the annual inventory check. The Customer Service Section remains open with regular hours.

CGO seminar

The KMC First Sergeant Council will sponsor a Company Grade Officer Professional Enhancement Seminar June 1 and 2 at the 435th Security Forces Squadron Auditorium. The theme of this event is “Building a Better Leader of the Enlisted Force.”  Interested CGOs can sign up through their respective First Sergeant through May 25.

Blood drives

The Armed Services Blood Program-Europe will conduct the following blood drives:

Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Bldg. 3450, Ramstein.

May 23: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Heaton Auditorium, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
