Police Week 5K

The annual Police Week 5K will take place 8 a.m. May 12 at the Ramstein Southside Fitness Center. Registration will start at 7:30 p.m. at the tennis courts. Free T-shirts will be available for the first 555 to arrive and register. The event is open for the entire KMC. For details, call 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron at 480-6008.

Events for retirees

The next Retiree Luncheon is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 12 at the KMCC Food Court Activity Room. To attend, sign up with the Retiree Activities Office by calling 480-5486 or 06371-47-5486, or email at 86aw.rao@us.af.mil

The 86th Dental Squadron will offer a retiree appreciation event for retired U.S. military members Monday and Tuesday. They will offer exams and cleanings. Limited operative care will also be available. To sign up, call 06371-46-2210.

Office closures

The KMC Housing Office as well as the Furnishings Management Section will close at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday due to training and May 25 due to German legal holidays, and May 29 due to Memorial Day.

More Police Week events

In observation of Police Week, the following events are scheduled:

May 13: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., display of vehicles, weapons, sniper, as well as taser, raven and K-9 demonstrations. For details, call 480-1215.

May 14: Police Week Luncheon, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at JR Rockers at Woodlawn on Ramstein. Guest speaker will be Lt. Col. Bryan Eckart.

May 15: Golf Scramble with shotgun at noon at Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. Fee is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. For details, call 493-4600.

May 15 to 17: Elementary Level Excellence in Competition Pistol, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  To sign up, email kellie.sawn@us.af.mil.

May 16: Battle of the Badges with combat comm relay, 100-meter Humvee push, 4-mile ruck team race, tug of war and obstacle course. Event introduction is 7 a.m. at the 435th Security Forces Squadron Compound, Bldg. 2249.

CGO seminar

The KMC First Sergeant Council will sponsor a Company Grade Officer Professional Enhancement Seminar June 1 to 2 at the 435th Security Forces Squadron Auditorium. The theme of this event is “Building a Better Leader of the Enlisted Force.”  Interested CGOs can sign up through their respective First Sergeant through May 25.

Blood drives

The Armed Services Blood Program-Europe will conduct the following blood drives

Monday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Crossroads Community Center – Skating Rink/E-Street Café, Vogelweh.

Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Brick House, Bldg. 150, Spangdahlem.

May 17: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Bldg. 3450, Ramstein.

May 23: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Heaton Auditorium, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

Study for volunteers

Do you have foot or heel pain? Interested in a safe, innovative laser therapy treatment? Participants must be age 18 to 65, eligible for care at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and have plantar fasciitis. Support needed
