APRIL 22 & 23, FRANKFURT AIRPORT
Terminal 3 with concourses G, H and J will officially open on April 22. Flight services are expected to commence on April 23, with up to 57 airlines currently operating from Terminal 2. After Terminal 3 is fully operational, Terminal 2 will undergo renovation and re-open upon completion.
Airlines will relocate in four phases (until June), so confirm your airline’s exact check‑in location before you travel. Lufthansa and affiliated Star Alliance airlines will remain in Terminal 1. Affected carriers in Terminal 3 include Air France, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, American Airlines and Korean Air. Travel advisory: Traveling to Terminal 3 from the Kaiserslautern Military Community may require a different route (via A6/A5 Darmstadt/Zeppelinheim): Set your GPS to Frankfurt International Terminal 3 (not Frankfurt Airport via A63 Mainz/Raunheim). FRAPORT advises travelers to be on-site at least 3 hours prior to departure, in particular for U.S. and intercontinental flights.
STREET FOOD FESTIVAL
APRIL 19, 11 A.M. – 6 P.M., STADTHALLE, LANDSTUHL
Around the Stadthalle, a colorful street food festival invites visitors to linger. In 2024, the range extended from pulled pork, tacos, and burgers to flame-grilled salmon, chimney cakes, and chocolate fruits – hardly leaving any wish unfulfilled. Additionally, there was a car show where various models could be admired. The little ones also had fun on a children’s carousel and at the Landstuhl fire department’s skittle game. This combination of trade fair character and culinary mile will also delight the public in 2026. Live Music & Entertainment: Bands such as Sunday Mood, Luigi Botta, and Horst Irsch created a great atmosphere while the mayors of Landstuhl and Ramstein tapped the keg. Visitors can expect diverse live music again. Sunday Shopping, when local shops open their doors perfect for strolling through the downtown stores after visiting the fair.
FRÜHJAHRSMESSE 2026 (SPRING FAIR)

The fairground will transform into a colorful spring fair. In addition to a large number of attractive rides, visitors can expect a wealth of culinary offerings. Experience a family-friendly ride on the Ferris wheel. Amusement rides and the bumper cars offer fun for young and old. If you are looking for a thrill, we recommend a ride on the high-altitude attraction. Furthermore, to numerous shops will make children’s hearts beat faster, an amusement facility will provide lots of fun and good cheer.
RAMSTEIN MEDIEVAL SPECTACLE
APRIL 24 – 26, MARKTPLATZ, RAMSTEIN
The historical reenactment is held on Ramstein´s market square and features various booths with vendors in medieval garments. The young and the old are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. Visitors can look forward to a varied program with live music, dance performances, fire show, gleeman and medieval food and drinks. Market hours are 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
GARDEN-ART-ENJOYMENT MARKET
APRIL 27, 10 A.M. – 6 P.M., ABTEIKIRCHE, OTTERBERG
An art and enjoyment weekend with a garden market in front of the abbey church will take place in Otterberg. For the sixth time, the popular Garden-Art-Enjoyment Market will be held on Sunday, April 27. The events offer a diverse program with art, music, culinary delights, and information about gardening and nature.
Over 60 selected exhibitors will present their handcrafted products in the areas of clay, wood, metal, fabric, paper, plants, and art. Visitors can look forward to numerous advisory and information booths, including a plant doctor who provides valuable tips for the new gardening season. Plants for your own garden can also be purchased. Culinary specialties will be offered on Kirchstraße, including spit-roast meat, game and lamb products, as well as vegetarian dishes and steamed dumplings. The Alte Abtei invites guests for coffee and cake starting at 2 p.m.
The monastery garden will open and offer guided tours. There are also exciting activities for little visitors: The Otterberg Forestry Office is setting up a forest school behind the church, where children and parents can learn more about forest animals, plants, and ecological balance.
