
WEIN & MUSIC IN THE CITY

On Friday and Saturday Kaiserslautern City Management invites you to a wine experience tour, as “Wine & Music” enters its third year. Under the motto “Wine and Enjoyment,” nearly 35 restaurants will be presenting themselves, including open-air venues, offering a fantastic opportunity to get to know their specialties and, above all, sample them.
The wine tour through the city will be atmospherically accompanied by an attractive music program. Visitors can look forward to a rich selection of events at over 15 locations in the city center on both days. There will be live music and DJs both outdoors and in the restaurants: From electronic music to rock and pop to singer-songwriter pieces, there’s something for every taste.
KERWE (VILLAGE FEST)
AUG. 23 – 25, MEHRZWECKHALLE, SEMBACH
As every year, the Sembach Musikverein invites young and old to its annual village festival. There will be live music, food and drinks, entertainment for children and lots of fun. If the weather doesn’t hold out, some performances will be inside the multi-purpose hall. Come out and support your local music club and meet new German friends and neighbors!

The event includes a sneak peek at the museum for children, a magic show with magician Tonga, an official opening by the County Commissioner and musical entertainment with Musikverein Mackenbach and Reichenbach-Steegen. Three Swinging Days in the City! Live entertainment on stages and squares, as well as marching bands in the pedestrian zone. The tour starts in the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards you descend into the subterranean tunnels. Friday, Oct 3, marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification. All stores and public offices will be closed to observe the holiday.

Chestnuts, chestnuts and even more chestnuts! The Keschdefeschd is a must-see and taste for all fans of the fruit and go nuts! Local vendors will offer dishes and products from and with chestnuts, such as sweet and savory variations, chestnut cream, chestnut liqueur, chestnut honey, chestnut flatbread, chestnut mustard and chestnut bread. And, if that’s not nutty enough, march up the hill to visit Trifels Castle, where English King Richard the Lion Heart was held captive in the late 12th century.

If you’re looking for a thrill, try a ride on the high-rise attraction. In addition to numerous booths that make children’s hearts beat faster, an amusement facility will ensure lots of fun and a good mood. There are also many opportunities to put your skills to the test at the many ball/dart throwing, lottery and ring throwing booths or with fishing games and shooting carts. Beer gardens and snack bars invite you to linger. For dessert, there are sweets, ice cream and crepe carts with plenty of options for snacking.
HALLOWEEN AT BURG SATZVEY

Ghostly creatures will crawl out of every corner of the extensive castle grounds and terrify anyone who approaches. A particular horror highlight is the course of terror in the dark castle park – definitely not for the faint-hearted! This year a new child-friendly program for families will start at 3:00 p.m. Those who stay longer can go into the castle park from 5:00 p.m. But be careful, dark figures and monsters will soon be leaving their hiding places. From 6:00 p.m. the spooky ferryman will silently greet his guests on the castle lake – goory figures will terrify many a visitor. Who dares to enter the castle courtyard, which lies eerily in the twilight? A course of terror awaits the particularly brave. Those who dare can go in, but will you be able to get out again?
