Don’t miss out on swinging Sembach on an exciting weekend with live music on Sat with a USAREUR Band formation and a pop group, live music on Sunday, rides, food and drinks, and coffee and cake. The fest rounds off with a rock performance and a German-American guest singer on Monday evening, followed by fireworks.

SWINGING LAUTERN

It’s high time to celebrate and swing into fall. Swing, jazz, soul and salsa invite you to swing along. During the three-day event downtown Kaiserslautern will turn into one large music stage, food and drinks galore and marching bands strolling around the pedestrian zone. 800 YEARS CITY RIGHTS/MEDIEVAL FEST

SEP. 2 – 3, OLD TOWN, ZELL/MOSELLE

The city of Zell is celebrating 800 years of city rights with a spectacular medieval festival. Enjoy jugglers, historic music and dance, a medieval market with vendors, handcraft, food and drink. Lukas of Manderscheid conquered the city, watch fencing challenges and fire shows and get a good laugh with Curiositas the fool. There will be plenty of hands-on activities for kids, such as “welding” small items or trying out a knight’s armor, and a bouncy castle. The band Spectaculatius will entertain visitors and a theater performance, depicting awarding of city rights, takes place at 2 p.m. Sat and Sun. For details visit: www.stadt-zell-mosel.de

UNICORN TOWN MOVIE

As part of the America on Screen movie series, the Atlantic Academy, in cooperation with the state program “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz! Our Neighbors from the USA” takes the documentary Unicorn Town (2022) to the big screen. Director Nick Alfieri will personally present his film Unicorn Town, offering insights into the filmmaking process and answering questions after the screening. Experience the world’s largest wine fest at picturesque Bad Dürkheim next to the world’s largest wine barrel. Hundred of vendors will sell their crafts, clothes and decoration items. There will be food and drink and lots of wine in a large tent with live music and in rows of small cozy and family-run winery run huts. Exciting rides for youngsters and adults alike invite guests to a grand time. Make sure to have a plan when drinking alcohol and a safe way to get home. Visitors are advised that special trains will be offered on both weekends leaving from Kaiserslautern/Landstuhl and tour operators offer bus tours to the event. IONTACH: IRISH MUSIC UNLIMITED

The band consisting of three renowned musicians from Ireland are not only great vocalists, but offer an array of instruments such as flutes, violins, Irish bagpipes, guitars, bouzouki, cello, keyboards and bodhran.
