CHRISTKINDLMARKT

NOV. 20-DEC. 23, ST. JOHANNERMARKT/CITY CENTER, SAARBRÜCKEN

The Christkindlmarkt in Saarbrücken is the longest shopping zone in the Saarland and the perfect setting to get into the season’s spirit. It offers visitors seasonal aromas, glittering ideas for gifts and delicious cuisine with dishes from France and Alsace along with typical Saarland favorites. A special attraction is Santa Claus on his sled with his reindeer and the Christ child hovering over the square once an hour. The aroma of cinnamon and spices, scents of candles and perfume, brightly decorated trees and a wide range of handcrafted presents will get you into the holiday mood. Visitors should park in one of the many parking garages located close to the city center or enjoy a relaxing train ride from Landstuhl/Kaiserslautern.

The Christmas Market in Neustadt is located on the large market square and includes small picturesque courtyards between historical half-timbered and winemaker houses. Although one of the smaller markets in the area, it has a very special nostalgic atmosphere and offers traditional dishes and a multitude of handcrafted seasonal items.
