CALL FOR KMC PARTICIPATION, RAMSTEIN-MIESENBACH

After a two-year pause, the largest Fasching parade in the region is scheduled to take place in Ramstein-Miesenbach on Feb. 21. The organizers “Bruchkatze” highly encourage any interested groups from the KMC to participate in the fun, whether girl or boy scouts, school classes or dance groups, anyone interested is welcome. FASTNACHT/FASCHING/KARNEVAL, STARTING FEB. 16

GERMANY WIDE 

Thursday, Feb. 16. marks the beginning of the Karneval season in Germany. Thursday is referred to as “Altweiberfastnacht” (old wives’ Fastnacht), where witches steal the keys to the city hall and take over command for the weekend. There are celebrations throughout the weekend and the festival culminates on “Faschingsdienstag” (Shrove Tuesday), as Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. 

The largest parades take place on Rose Monday, Feb. 20 in the city centers:

  • Köln/Cologne, 10 a.m.
  • Düsseldorf, 12.30 a.m.
  • Mainz, 11:11 a.m.,
  • Aachen, 11:11 a.m.
  • Stuttgart, 12 a.m. 
  • Frankfurt, Sunday, Feb. 19, 12:11 a.m.
  • Ramstein-Miesenbach, Westricher Fastnacht,Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2 p.m., with 50,000 spectators and KMC participation expected.

We Salute You is a AC/DC Tribute Band, which sets new standards in honor of the legendary Australian rock band with its elaborate and authentic concerts. DUAL ANNIVERSARY IN LANDSTUHL 2023

The City of Landstuhl is celebrating two anniversaries in the year 2023. The 500th birthday of Franz von Sickingen, it’s most prominent resident ever, is coming up. In addition, Landstuhl is celebrating 700 years of city rights. A number of special events, such as a speech about Sickingen’s life and times, a tour to sister Castle Ebernburg, a crime tour around Castle Nanstein, castle experience events, a parade as well as a concert are planned throughout the year.
