Folk festival fans will find everything their heart desires here: an attractive amusement park with a variety of large, modern rides, as well as an entertaining supporting program and appealing gastronomy from the Palatinate Festival Innkeepers in cozy beer and wine gardens.

GERMAN-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP FEST

The annual and very popular friendship fest is taking place again this year. There will be a varied music program, food and drinks and lots of fun to look forward to. Come out and meet new friends!

GRAND PRIX SEMBACH (LAWN TRACTOR RACES)

JUNE 20 – 22, COMMERCIAL AREA SEMBACH

Maybe not quite as prestigious as Formula One, but just as exciting and fun! Visit the annual lawn tractor races in Sembach, which have become a unique family tradition beyond the region. Races take place all weekend with special disciplines for agility, youth/teens, men and women, and promising tons of fun for spectators and competitors alike. There will also be lots of food and drinks along with live music events.

MITTERALTERMARKT

JUNE 21 – 22, BURG LICHTENBERG, THALLICHTENBERG

On the historic castle grounds (castle complex with upper and lower castles, spanning 423 meters), visitors are transported back to the world of the Middle Ages. Medieval music and dance groups will entertain the audience throughout the castle complex on both days, dressed in colorful costumes and with all sorts of exotic instruments, according to ancient tradition. Crossbow and archery events complement the program. Several stalls offer food and drinks that were served to knights and damsels during the castle’s heyday. Regional produce and a lack of fast food options are also part of the program. The unique panorama of the castle complex, coupled with the medieval hustle and bustle and the attractive offerings, will leave an unforgettable positive impression. The medieval-themed wooden stalls and tents, as well as the historical costumes of all vendors, are a given and a prerequisite for participation in the market.

Kaiserslautern’s Old Town will once again become the region’s largest open-air pub. From rock music to soul and blues, from Japanese cuisine to Palatinate specialties, from high-quality leather goods to unique jewelry – there’s something for every taste at the Old Town Festival. 150,000 visitors enjoy this colorful mix of entertainment, culture, and culinary delights every summer in Lauter’s Old Town. There will be numerous stages, street theater, arts and crafts, and culinary delights—from Japanese cuisine to Palatinate specialties. A German-American singer will perform on the stage at the large crosswalk leading to St. Martin’s Platz on Friday evening.

The walking-tour in the downtown area highlights interesting historical and present-day facts about the more than 750-year-old Barbarossa city. 50TH HAHNENFEST (ROOSTER FEST)

JULY 12 -13, VILLAGE CENTER, QUEIDERSBACH

The organizers of the Hahnenfest are excited to announce a very special anniversary this year! They will be hosting the 50 th fest, which needs to be celebrated in style!

So look forward to an unforgettable weekend full of good cheer, delicious food, and, of course, the best chicken around. This year, there will once again be a varied program for young and old. In addition to live music and entertainment for children, we have planned a few surprises for the anniversary. The exact program for the 50th Hahnenfest will be announced in the coming months. KERWE (VILLAGE FEST)

JULY/AUGUST, VARIOUS DATES/LOCATIONS

During the summer and early fall months, almost every town or village celebrates its “Kerwe”, a dialect version of “Kirchweih”. Originally these fests were celebrated when a church was consecrated. Throughout time, the festivals have developed into cheerful town or village events where friends, neighbors, relatives and new town residents meet and have a good time together, usually with plenty of food, drink and live music. In most towns village youth bind the traditional “Kerwestrauss,” a pole decorated with colored ribbons mounted at the local Gasthaus. Part of the tradition is speeches about local scandals, gossip and funny events. Some villages also have parades on Sunday. Upcoming fests: Niedermohr July 4, Obermohr July 25, Enkenbach July 12, Weltersbach Aug: 9, Schrollbach Aug. 15. Also watch for signs/posters in individual towns.

VIBRANCY OPEN AIR

JULY 5, VÖLKLINGER HÜTTE, VÖLKLINGEN/NEAR SAARBRÜCKEN

On July 5, techno returns to the Völklinger Hütte at the Vibrancy Open Air. Visitors again have the chance to dance under chimneys and in the midst of industrial culture. Anticipation is rising, organizer Vibrancy Music has now announced the line-up: Stephan Bodzin, Anfisa Letyago, Konstantin Sibold and Pretty Pink. The line-up is completed with artists from the region such as Dave Lukas, Lea Lindner and Tony Mejeh. The interaction of exceptional DJs with the aura of Erzplatz will lead to a unique experience. ZWEIBRÜCKER STADTFEST 2025 (CITY FESTIVAL

JULY 25 – 27, CITY CENTER, ZWEIBRÜCKEN

Whether savory, sweet, or exotic – the city festival will once again treat visitors to a diverse selection of food and drinks. But, as always, the focus is on one thing: the MUSIC! Numerous acts will perform on a total of eight stages over three days, providing a diverse live program that will delight music fans of all genres. As a special highlight, visitors can look forward to a true star of the pop music world this year: Olaf the Flipper will bring the city festival to a close with his hits, ensuring a great atmosphere and good cheer.
