ZURLAUBEN FEST, JULY 8-10, ZURLAUBEN UFER/MOSELLE RIVER BANK, TRIER

Enjoy a spectacular festival with wine and culinary delights directly along the banks of the Moselle River. The traditional and cozy Fishermen’s Village of Zurlauben is lined with pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The three-day event includes fun activities, music, regional specialties and lots of wine. Magnificent musical fireworks will light the skies over the river at 11 p.m. on Saturday evening. A number of roads will be blocked and drivers are advised to use the designated parking areas and take shuttle busses to the event.

EXHIBITION 70 YEARS RAMSTEIN AIR BASE – THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW, UNTIL AUG 31, DOCU CENTER, RAMSTEIN

The history of Ramstein Air Base began with the first construction work in April 1951. August 2022 will mark the 70th anniversary of its commissioning. Using carefully selected objects and photographs, the exhibition commemorates seven decades of the Air Base and the impact it has had on its surroundings. https://www.dc-ramstein.de

LONG NIGHT OF CULTURE, JUNE 24, 7.P.M. – JUNE 26, 3 A.M., CULTURE CENTERS/PEDESTRIAN ZONE, KAISERSLAUTERN

Kaiserslautern’s cultural centers will open for a long night of culture “Lange Nacht der Kultur” with music, art and entertainment for families in the afternoon and for adults with events up to shortly prior to sunrise. Over 100 individual programs are scheduled at 25 different locations. Events will take place at various locations within and around the pedestrian zone. KAISERSLAUTERN COUNTY FAMILY DAY, JUNE 25, 11 A.M. – 6 P.M., CONGRESS CENTER RAMSTEIN, RAMSTEIN 

Enjoy a day with family fun for kids and teens. The day’s events will include booths of various institutions, organizations, clubs and tourism as well as foosball, billiards, ping-pong tables and ball games. The outdoor area will be dedicated to an active participation program, along with culinary delights and a musical program. Five KMC groups will showcase their organizations. 

MEDIEVAL SUMMER MARKET, JUNE 25 AND 26, LICHTENBERG CASTLE, THALICHTENBERG 

Dive into the Middle Ages at Castle Lichtenberg near Kusel and enjoy Medieval music and dancers in colorful robes and with ancient instruments. Try your expertise in shooting a crossbow or bow or grab a bite to eat or a sip of medieval beverage served based on old recipes. 1150th ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL, JUNE 25 AND 26, KERWEPLATZ, ALSENBORN 

Celebrate the town of Alsenborn’s 1150th anniversary with rides, food, beverages and live rock as well as traditional German music in the fest tent. Don’t miss out on the colorful parade on Sunday afternoon.

Dine while enjoying fresh summer tunes. A music formation will entertain you every Friday. 

WESTRICHER SOMMERFEST, JULY 1 – 3, WERNER-ODENWALD-PLATZ, BRUCHMÜHLBACH-MIESAU

Enjoy a summer festival with tapping of the keg on Friday at 6 p.m., crowning of the summer queen and rock music with the “HüttenRockern.” Food and beverage, a cocktail bar, rides, a kid’s afternoon and fireworks on Sunday evening. 

DIScOVERY TOUR IN ENGLISH, JULY 2, 11:15 A.M., CASIMIR SAAL (CITY HALL), KAISERSLAUTERN

The guided tour includes a visit inside the Casimir Saal, located just below the City Hall. It is approximately 1.5 hours and leads through the underground illuminated tunnel with information and sound effects about the history of Kaiserslautern. Tours are also held on Aug 6, Sep 3, Oct 8. Enjoy a traditional German city festival and try a delicious selection from one of the 20 food trucks. Music and sales booths will be throughout the city center.

SCHNAPPSBRENNERFEST (VILLAGE FESTIVAL), JULY 2, 7.30 P.M. – JUL 3 8 P.M., VILLAGE SQUARE, MITTELBRUNN

Enjoy a lively village festival and help the Mittelbrunners burn their schnapps. There will be music and disco, and a children’s program on Sunday with the dance group “Mittelbrunner Firegirls,” a petting zoo and entertainment with the Duo “Sax’nDrums.” Plenty of food and beverages will be available to suit everyone’s taste.

BRETZELFEST (CITY FESTIVAL), JULY 7 – 12, FAIRGROUND BESIDE CATHEDRAL, SPEYER 

The annual city festival offers rides, food and beverages, traditional music and fun for everyone. The parade on Sunday starts at 1.30 p.m. and a brilliant fireworks display concludes the event on Tuesday evening.
