A memorial service for the children of U.S. members buried at Kaiserslautern’s cemetery will take place on Saturday at Daenner Chapel to be followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the main cemetery.

As every year, Burg Lichtenberg invites you to its seasons’ opening with a colorful flower and herb market, special displays in the museums, hands-on stations for kids, musical entertainment, hikes and guided tours with lots of food and beverages. AMERICAN WEEK

MAY 26-JUNE 4, SAINT-AVOLD, FRANCE

The city of Saint-Avold is exited to announce that they will be holding a 40th anniversary celebration of twinning with the U.S. city of Fayetteville, North Carolina. There are numerous events planned for American Week, including parades, concerts, a miss pin-up contest, and a celebration of the twinning of the cities. The ceremony will be May 26 at 6 p.m. at the city hall, the parade, pin-up contest and concert on May 27. A Memorial Day celebration will be held at the cemetery on May 28, 11 a.m. Come down and celebrate this event in the beautiful France countryside.

Monday, May 29 is Pentecostal Monday, a holiday with a religious background. This year it coincides with U.S. Memorial Day. All stores and public holidays are closed in honor of the occasion.
