Ramstein rugby champs host season-opening tourney
The RAF Ramstein Rogues Rugby Football Club are hosting the 2006-07 Rheinland Pfalz season opening tournament 10 a.m. Saturday.
This tournament will be played at the club’s home pitch at Queidersbach Sportsplatz.

All teams in the division will be playing, including those from Worms, Mainz, KL/Speyer, Trier/Andernach, and a team from Luxembourg. The tourney will be played using a round-robin format.

The Rogues are the reigning Rheinland-Pfalz Rugby Division-III champions. All players and spectators are encouraged to come out, or contact the team for more details at ramsteinrogues@hotmail.com. (Courtesy of the Ramstein Rogues)

Chiefs, Eagles face off on diamond
To celebrate the Air Force’s 59th anniversary, the KMC Eagles (colonels) and chiefs will play a traditional softball game 3 p.m. on Sept. 18 to earn “bragging rights” for another year. The game will be played at the Ramstein Southside softball field, located behind the Ramstein Southside Fitness Center.

This is a good chance for interested spectators to watch colonels and chiefs rub elbows and show their stuff while celebrating the Air Force’s 59th year of existence.

During last year’s game, the Eagles edged the Chiefs in the last inning by a home run. Everyone is invited to come out and show support by rooting for senior leaders in a game of fun.  For more information, contact Kevin Call at 480-7940.
