Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria senior leaders participated in the Day of the Bundeswehr (Tag der Bundeswehr) open-house on June 6 at Major Radloff Kaserne in Weiden, Germany. Taking part in the festivities were U.S. Army Col. Colin Frament and Command Sgt. Maj. Ilker Irmak. The widely attended annual open-house event, hosted by the German military at several locations nationwide, is designed to familiarize citizens with military equipment and personnel. The event drew approximately 16,000 visitors from across Northern Bavaria. The annual Day of the Bundeswehr celebration was held at several German military bases across Germany drawing more than 250,000 attendees. Ilker Irmak, the command team for U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria, along with several MEDDAC-B Soldiers, took part in the Day of the Bundeswehr (Tag der Bundeswehr) celebration June 6 in Weiden, Germany, The annual open-house event, held at various German military bases across Germany, attracted more than 200,000 attendees. The annual open-house event is designed as a recruiting tool and to raise general public awareness about the Bundeswehr, its mission, Soldiers and equipment. Attendance by U.S. Army MEDDAC-Bavaria reflects their ongoing partnership, collaboration and teamwork with their Bundeswehr counterparts.
