The Annual Turkey Trot hosted by the U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern
Sports and Fitness Branch was held Nov. 19 at Rhine Ordnance Barracks.
There were 96 runners and one dog. Despite the cold weather and icy
conditions, the sun was shining and the runners were all in good
spirits. The winner, Robert Arsenarlt, finished in a time of 16:49. The
fastest female runner was Joy Hruskka with a time of 18:17. Vogelweh
had the largest number of participants for the second year in a row.

Volunteers on hand from Better Opportunities for Singles Servicemembers
helped ensure the race ran smoothly and that none of the runners got
lost in the woods. Some of the participates, were quoted as saying it
was a very well planned day.

In addition to the race, many giveaways were awarded to the lucky ticket holders.

The organizers raffled off five turkeys. The day was a huge success.
