Volunteer Champions shine at ‘stars’ banquet

The 415th Base Support Battalion selected 11 people as Volunteer Champions at their annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet, “The Night of Volunteer Stars,” held Thursday at the Armstrong Community Club.
Individuals compete individually each year for recognition as Volunteer Champions. Selections are based on their commitment to the organization’s mission and impact on the KMC.
Marie Hoffpauer – donated more than 100 hours a month as Kaiserslautern Girl Scouts Overseas Committee Association secretary and Girl Scout Troop #6 leader.
Aimee Henderson – volunteered as an Army Family Team Building master trainer and Advisory Council member, the Kaiserslautern-Landstuhl Spouses’ Association volunteer coordinator, the Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club historian and bazaar volunteer chairperson and American Red Cross nurse.
Stephanie Codina – averaged 80 hours a month as the Kaiserslautern Girl Scouts Overseas Committee Association treasurer and Brownie Troop leader.
Allan Lehman – volunteered at the Landstuhl’s Parent and Student Teacher Association and Athletic Booster club, Landstuhl Youth Sports and Fitness program, and Ramstein American High School.
Ann Cook – donated 470 hours to the Parent Teacher Organization Board, and Ramstein American Intermediate and Elementary schools.
Patricia Johnson – started and served as the leader of the Family Readiness Group for the 191st Ordnance Battalion, Army Family Team Building master trainer and the 2003 Army Family Action Plan delegate.
Rhonda Lier – served as the Kaiserslautern-Landstuhl Spouses Association vice president and the Friends of the Fisher House member.
Hazel Holifield – volunteered at the Kaiserslautern-Landstuhl Spouses’ Association and Thrift Shop.
Cindy Martin – devoted more than 540 hours volunteering as a Family Readiness Group Leader for the 1st Satellite Communications Company, 2003 Army Family Action Plan recorder, the Rhineland-Pfalz/Eifel American Women’s Activities, Germany conference assistant and the Kaiserslautern-Landstuhl Spouses’ Association Fisher House meal programs coordinator.

Command Sgt. Maj. Les McCorkle – volunteered with Army Family Team Building, United States Army Sergeant Majors’ Academy, 1st Transportation Movement Control Agency’s Family Readiness Group, and Kaiserslautern Sergeant Majors’ Association.

Jamilah Bailey – assisted in community projects as the Torch Club vice president, and president of the Landstuhl Elementary and Middle School Student Council.
