Volunteer firefighters sponsor meeting of old fire trucks


***image1***To celebrate its 140th anniversary, members of the Ramstein Volunteer Fire Department, organized a big classic car rally for fire trucks. More than 40 vintage trucks from all over Germany registered to participate.

The event also includes an entertaining program. After touring the Westpfalz today, the vehicles are on display at 1 p.m. on Marktplatz in Ramstein-Miesenbach. The vehicles drive on to Hütschenhausen, Hauptstuhl, Bann and Queidersbach. In Kaiserslautern, they can be admired in front of the city hall from 3 to 5 p.m. before driving back to the Ramstein Fire Station via Otterbach and Weilerbach. Interested visitors again can look at the vehicles from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Ramstein-Miesenbach Fire Station.

Participants of the meeting have the chance to visit the Ramstein Air Base Fire Station at 12:30 p.m. before they start a parade through housing.

In the evening, entertainment is provided with the SWR3 Dance Night and SWR3 Top DJ Josh Kochhann playing pop songs, current charts and ballads.
