The Gartenschau Kaiserslautern offers a medieval market from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The market includes more than 30 stands with merchandise, culinary specialties, a knights camp, musicians, jugglers and craftsmanship presentations. • “Tristan und Isolde,” a musical drama by Richard Wagner, 5 p.m. Saturday, May 15 and 21.

It ends at Villa Denis in Diemerstein and is 26 kilometers long. Hikers can stop at food stations and test their skills in different games. Hikers can also take a free shuttle bus at 11 a.m. to Waldleiningen and walk from there, which is about half the distance. A park fest near Villa Denis begins at 1 p.m. with food, music and children’s activities. Diemerstein is a part of Frankenstein, located on B39, past Hochspeyer. The address for GPS users starting at the university is Paul-Ehrlich-Strasse 28, Kaiserslautern.
