Bikers, hikers and skaters can enjoy the 30 km car-free route from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Restaurants, associations and institutions in the villages along that road will offer culinary specialties, regional wines, live music and displays. Children can jump on bouncy castles, go on pony rides and get their faces painted. Participants can also explore churches and historical sites such as the castle ruins in Neu-Bamberg. Regional vintners will serve wines in their yards and at various stands. Music and artistic performances will take place at the historical Marktplatz. Vendors will put up 30 stands on Bahnhofstrasse to offer food specialties and other merchandise. An amusement park will feature a giant Ferris wheel and other rides. The Deidesheim wine carnival was awarded the nicest wine fest of the Palatinate. Organizers recommend to use public transportation. For details, visit www.deidesheim.de.
