Welcome spring in Forst
Forst, along the German Wine Street, says good-bye to winter with a summer day parade and play Sunday. Forst residents perform the “Hanselfingerhut Fest” play at 2 p.m. near the northern exit of the village and at 3:30 p.m. in front of Felix-Christoph-Traberger-Halle. Forst is a wine-growing community located between Deidesheim and Bad Duerkheim. For details, visit www.forst-pfalz.de.

• The Chinese National Circus presents “The Grand Hongkong Hotel,” 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets range from €30 to €40.

• Jazz Stage meets Countertenor and Choir, 8 p.m. March 31. Tickets cost €15.

• Quatuor Sine Nomine presents Johannes Brahms’ string sextetts B-Dur op. 18 and G-Dur op. 36, 8 p.m. April 6. Tickets cost €14, €20 and €25.

• Medieval dinner with entertainment by imperial knight Reinhard and his gleeman, 7:30 p.m. March 31. The dinner consists of potato soup, haxen, chicken, cabbage, potatoes, noodles, dessert, beer, wine, water. Cost is €49.

• The Mainz Chamber Orchestra presents classical music like serenades and divertimenti, 5 p.m. April 2. Tickets cost €12.

• The party band Habachtaler unplugged plays a concert not on stage, but among the audience sitting at tables, 8 p.m. April 8. Tickets cost €14.

The German State Philharmonics Rheinland-Pfalz and pianist Frank Dupree present a symphony concert with works by Peter Tschaikowsky and Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Pirmasens Festhalle, Volksgartenstrasse 12.
