Wine village holds arts, wine market

The village of Zell, which belongs to the community of Zellertal presents itself under the slogan, “Enchanting Zellertal,” Saturday and Sunday.

***image1***The event is an arts and wine market combined with musical performances.

A summer night with dancing and music by the show band Magic starts 6 p.m. Saturday in the Krauss Vinery. Local wines and food specialties are served in the yard of the Kolpingheim. There also will be live music.

Sunday, all local vintners and restaurants participate in festivities. They offer culinary specialties such as saumagen carpaccio or stuffed gnocchis. Also, about 40 artists can be found.

Festivities start with an outdoor worship service at 10 a.m. in the Krauss Vinery. An entertaining musical program follows with Friends of Music and Los Sabados Cantados.

Artists don’t only present their works, they also demonstrate their working techniques.

Visitors can watch painting, pottery, works on wood and leather items, tatting, sculpture making and the production of teddy bears and dolls.

Children can make crafts, jump on bounce-a-ramas, play games and have their faces painted.

In the village center, there is a display of vintage tractors.

The local museum is open all day.

Vintners invite visitors to taste their wines of the Zellertal vine growing area.

Zellertall is located on federal street B47, north of Eisenberg. Travel north on B40, pass Sembach and Dreisen, and in Marnheim go on B47.
