Women’s club turns 50


***image1***The barbershop choir International Flair consisting of ladies from four nations performed during the 50th anniversary party of the German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern May 19 at Dorint Hotel in Kaiserslautern. The celebration consisted of an entertaining program and speeches by distinguished visitors to include Dr. Richard Auernheimer from the Rheinland-Pfalz Ministry for Work, Social Affairs, Family and Health, Andrew C. Parker, U.S. Consulate, Frankfurt, and Col. Susan Strednansky, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe. American president Cathy Daiga and German president Helga Baecker awarded Kaiserslautern’s Lord Mayor Bernhard Deubig as Honorary Member for all his support. Another highlight was the club’s history review by club member Uta Mayr-Falkenberg.  The Atlantic Academy Kaiserslautern sponsored the musical program with the U.S. soprano singer Kathryn Magestro and the German pianist Jens Barnieck.
