Youth Programs to offer All Sports Camp

by 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

Vogelweh Youth Programs plan to host an All Sports Camp for youth ages 9 to 12 years old June 21 through 25 in Bldg. 1057 on Vogelweh Family Housing.

The camp will focus on a variety of sports throughout the week to help bring youngsters together for sports fun during the summer.

“The purpose of this summer camp is to promote youth to get involved with different sport activities and exercise,” said Alicia Stachowski, Vogelweh Youth Operations clerk. “This camp will also help the youth to have a sense of camaraderie and build team skills and coordination.”

The All Sports Camp will feature sports such as basketball, baseball and soccer, as well as mini-games of dodge ball and kickball. Every day will include two sports activities with a break between each event and stretching to start the day off. At the end of the day, campers will have open recreation time.

“What is provided for the campers is a place for youth to get together in a safe and fun environment with some friendly competition,” Ms. Stachowski said.

The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will cost $50 per youth. To register, visit www.86thservices.com/KMC-Youth-Center.html under the instructional tab, or call 0631-536-6504.

Other sport-specific camps will be offered throughout the summer such as basketball, golf and soccer, as well as other summer camp themes. For a complete listing of camps Vogelweh Youth Programs is offering, visit www.86thservices.com.
