» October is Anti-Bullying Month. During the month of October, Rheinland-Pfalz Library encourages patrons to write down, anonymously or not, their feelings on bullying and what they would say to a bully if given the opportunity. The library will display all responses inside the front entrance to show the effects of bullying. Open to all ages. » German-American Friendship Day is celebrated each year on Oct. 6 and this year the local celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Haus des Buergers in Ramstein. » Donate to the 2015 Combined Federal Campaign and Improve the quality of life in the KMC, open through Nov. 20. » The Purple Gala is a free event to honor the victims of domestic violence and celebrate the lives of survivors from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Rheinlander Convention Center on Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8085. The night will feature a guest speaker; heavy appetizers and drinks will be available for purchase. » Vehicle Safety Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Pulaski Barracks Automotive Skills Center, Bldg. 2859. Winter is coming and Pulaski Automotive Center is offering free vehicle safety inspections in celebration of Vehicle Safety Day. Make sure that your vehicle fits all of the safety standards to ensure that you stay safe on the roads. Mechanics will spend a minimum of 10 minutes per vehicle and review all components to ensure that your vehicle can properly pass an inspection and drive safely on the road. Armstrong’s Club Events

» Hispanic Heritage Month: Latin Dance Competition:
Oct. 17. The winning couple in each dance category (salsa, bachata and merengue) will receive $100. No fee to participate; sign-ups will be from 9 to 11 p.m. the night of the event.

» Not So Spooky Costume Party: 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31. Family event features dance music, character meet and greet, candy stations and a light meal. Show off your costumes. Cost: Adults, $14.95; children ages 3 to 12, $9.95; children 2 and under, free. Special family package: family of four, two adults and two children, $45. Tickets available online via WebTrac or from any Java Cafe in the KMC. Purchase deadline: Oct. 23.

» Small Tab Tuesdays: 5 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday play a game of pool or pick your favorite jam on the jukebox while enjoying specials.

» Baby Bumps series takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4 and 18. Join the New Parent Support Program for this six-week “Socialize and Learn” series for expecting women and meet other moms to be. The six-week rotation allows you to come to any and all sessions that interest you. Taught by NPSP registered nurses. No registration required.
