New traffic code gives 72-hour reprieve before towing vehicles

The installation traffic code has changed recently to allow for up to 72 hours of parking at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center and Ramstein Enlisted Club before the vehicle is towed.

Cathleen provided medical assistance to the victim while Robert ensured the accident scene was safe and secure.

The KMC All-Stars little league baseball team practices for their next game against defending German champions Baden-Württemberg. The KMC All-Stars recently defeated the Wiesbaden All-Stars 17-1 during a three game series. The KMC All-Stars look to defend their European regional championship and advance to the Little League World Series.

Photos by Airman Dymekre AllenThe St. Baldrick’s foundation conducted the fourth annual “Shave your head for childhood cancer” event June 30 at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center on Ramstein. The foundation hosted a volunteer charity event in which 117 military members, civilians and dependents in the KMC sheared their locks in support of raising awareness and money to bring hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting the war on cancer. The St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events began as a challenge between businessmen and has grown from one event in 2000 to more than 1,290 events in 2012. This year’s event rose 11,500 in donations, surpassing the goal of 10,000. Team PMEL was the largest contributor by donating more than 4,500 for the charity event.

The annual drifting fest in the Leinbach Valley between Frankenstein and Waldleiningen will take place Sunday. The Otterberg forestry office and the communities of Hochspeyer, Frankenstein and Waldleiningen will sponsor, in cooperation with local associations, the annual “Triftfest” from
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Biedenbacher Woog (pond).
