Dollar Day at October carnival today
Kaiserslautern’s traditional October carnival with rides and vendors at Messeplatz fairgrounds continues through Monday. Today is Dollar Day. Numerous ride owners and vendors offer an exchange rate of $1 equals €1. A final fireworks display is scheduled for 9 p.m. Monday. — Photo by City of Kaiserslautern

Gartenschau closes
The Kaiserslautern Gartenschau with dino park closes for the season Tuesday. Visitors have a last chance to see figures such as the bald eagle made of pumpkins, walk through the flower hall and see the Lego display. The Gartenschau will reopen in April 2018. — Courtesy photo
