Slow Cooking Spring Sweets

Slow Cooking Spring Sweets

by Dr. Krystal White Contributing writer

Some things get put into a category and never break free. Think of a TV actor who can’t make the shift into film once his series ends, a romance potential kept in the friend zone, a wardrobe item you only wear after the guests leave and you’re going to spend eight hours on the couch with your Apple TV. Yes, it’s easy to keep things in their usual status quo. by Dr. Krystal White Contributing writer

Spring conjures dreams of picnics, playgrounds and parties. It invites us to slowly emerge from our individual homes and join our community in celebration of life and light. There’s no other time of year that can compete with the fever of spring.

Germans observe Easter traditions

by Petra Lessoing
86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

The Easter holidays are just around the corner. In Germany, Easter week begins with Holy Thursday, which Germans call “Gründonnerstag,” or green Thursday. The word “green” is not associated with the color, but rather with the old German verb “grienen,” meaning to bemoan. Some people still recognize Holy Thursday traditions by eating green vegetables that day, preferably spinach.
