City fest lures with music

Landstuhl will celebrate its annual city fest today through Sunday. It
features a musical program on five stages, vendors’ booths and open
stores Sunday afternoon.

The fest will officially open at 7 p.m. today near the stage on Alten
Markt. Landstuhl’s mayor Klaus Grumer will tap the first keg of beer
and the band Sabor Latino will perform until midnight.

Also on four other stages bands will entertain. The Franky Young Band
will play near the Stadthalle, the Uptown Shufflers on stage near VR
bank, Renegade will perform on Kaiserstrasse and the Savannah Blues
Band can be found on the stage near Moorbad.

Saturday, music performances start with the Landstuhl Brass Orchestra
at 11 a.m. on the stage near VR bank. Until midnight, the fest will
continue with the bands Boogie Bandits, Under-cover, Slippery,
Goodtimers, From Da Soul, the Mindless, More Than One and Nursery
Crime.

Sunday starts with the Tijuana Band and the traditional “Frühschoppen,” an early morning beer get-together, at 11 a.m.

The stores will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Throughout the day until 7
p.m. various bands such as Magic, Acoustical Jam, Crossover and the
Straight Ahead Big Band will perform.

Visitors find food booths serving regional and international culinary specialties throughout the town.

The center of town will close to motorized traffic.
