Strong B.A.N.D.S. Campaign

The U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Family and MWR Strong B.A.N.D.S. Campaign will showcase events for the Baumholder and Kaiserslautern Military Communities throughout May to June 7. STRONG B.A.N.D.S. – STRONG Balance, Activity, Nutrition, Determination and Strength – promotes healthy, active lifestyles for Army communities. It helps motivate Army Soldiers, Families, Retirees and Civilians to get and stay fit. Thursday Night Comedy Show

Aidan Jones headlines the Thursday Comedy Show June 25 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Feature comedian is Dinara Kerey. Host is local comedian Erin Crouch. This is an 18+ event. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $10 at the door.  Payment can be made with credit and debit cards or U.S dollars. 75/250 German American Friendship Festival

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz and the City of Baumholder will host a joint three-day festival July 3 to 5 to commemorate 75 years of German American partnership in Baumholder and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Everyone is invited to attend. The festival will take place at the Baumholder Army Airfield and will include military static displays, amusement rides, food and beverage vendors, live entertainment and a July 4 fireworks show. Armstrong’s Grand Reopening

Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing, will reopen its front doors Monday, June 1, following months of renovation. The reopening highlights Armstrongs’ newly upgraded airconditioning system. A grand reopening celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 5, starting at 6 p.m., with free fingerfood snacks for attendees. Chuck’s Pub trivia will be offered at no cost in the Armstrongs bar. The upstairs ballroom will host live music with Tom Mac and line dancing, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the band performing at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 at the door or $12 in advance, and the event continues until 1 a.m.  For more information, visit Kaiserslautern.armymwr.com.

Ribbon Cutting for 24-Hour Game Room

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new 24-hour game room will be held June 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Landstuhl Community Club, Bldg. 3780 on Landstuhl Post. U.S. Army 250th Birthday Golf Scramble

Registration for the U.S. Army 251st Birthday Golf Scramble is now to June 14. The birthday scramble will be Sunday, June 14, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne.  This is a nine-hole golf scramble. Cost is $25 for those who register for the scramble BEFORE June 6 and $30 for those who register from June 7 to 14. Tee time is 2 p.m. The birthday celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature a barbecue, refreshments, and a complimentary piece of birthday cake. Be festive and wear black and gold! U.S. Army 251st Birthday Run

Army Family and MWR and the 16th Sustainment Brigade will proudly host a free fun run in honor of the U.S. Army’s 251st birthday on Thursday, June 11 starting at 6:30 a.m. on the Minick Field on Smith Barracks. Military units will run in formation, and all participating civilians will run behind (at the rear of) the formation. For details, visit baumholder.armymwr.com.

SKIES Irish Dance Classes

Register your child now for SKIES Unlimited Irish Dance Classes for ages 4 to 18 at the SKIES Bldg. 3819 on Landstuhl Post. Summer camps are currently offered for the following dates: June 15, 16 and 18, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and June 29 to July 2, July 6 to 9, July 13 to 16, and July 20 to 23, Monday to Thursday. Live Band-Junktones

The Junktones will perform live at 9 p.m. June 19, 2026, at the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. Doors open at 8 p.m., and admission is $10. The concert marks the Heidelberg punk band’s 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of high-energy performances. The event is open to the community. Ten-Minute Plays Performances

KMC Onstage will present its annual Ten-Minute Plays June 26 to 28 at Bldg. 3232 on Kleber Kaserne. The showcase features debut productions from new local directors, who participated in the Directors and Stage Management Workshop. Performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. The program includes a mix of comedy and drama, highlighting emerging directing talent from the KMC area. Pick-a-Pro Open

Pick your favorite pro in ‘The Open’ and take off whatever they shoot under par off your own score! This 18-hole Pick-a-Pro Open tournament is July 19 at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne.  This solo player tournament will be played the weekend of The

Open and winner announced after ‘The Open’ and on the Baumholder Rolling Hills Golf Course Facebook group and posted in the pro shop the following Monday. Regular rules and regulations apply. Summer Reading Program
Block Party

Baumholder Library will host its annual Summer Reading Program Celebration on Friday, July 24, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Pavilion 1, located across from the Wagon Wheel Theater on Smith Barracks.

The Block Party–style event will include games, entertainment, food, prize giveaways and community partner stands. This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is “Plant a Seed, Read.” The celebration is free and open to all ages. More details are at baumholder.armymwr.com.

“Fittest Games” Competition

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Family and MWR will host its “Fittest Games” competition July 25 from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Minick Field at Smith Barracks in Baumholder. Up to 40 participants may register June 15–July 23. A safety brief and course walk-through will begin at 9:45 a.m., with competition starting at 10 a.m. The timed “Hyrox/Crossfit” styled functional fitness competition includes nine exercises, with judges tracking repetitions, form and overall time. Male and female categories will award first-, second- and third-place winners, with all participants receiving T-shirts and top finishers earning medals and grand prizes. Rolling Hills Golf Open

Golfers can compete at the Rolling Hills Golf Course’s Open Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. Cost is $50, which includes an 18-hole round of golf w/cart, a range token, and tickets for a barbecue meal and refreshment. The Rolling Hills Open is a 1-day 18-hole championship tournament. This is a solo tournament playing in groups of 4 with regular rules and regulations applying. Tie breakers will play best of 9 on Sunday, Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (RHGC Gift cards, $100, $75, and $50) and all winners will receive automatic inclusion on the Rolling Hills Ryder Cup team. Air Conditioning Service Special

Family and MWR Automotive Skills Centers on Smith Barracks in Baumholder, Landstuhl Post and Pulaski Barracks in Kaiserslautern, is offering a $10 off hookup fees for all air conditioning services and AC system checks. This special is appointment only. Patrons can call or stop by any of the Family and MWR Automotive Skills Centers to schedule an appointment. RECURRING EVENTS

Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
