The 15th annual “Triftfest,” drifting fest, will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Biedenbacher Woog in Leinbach Valley between the villages Frankenstein and Waldleiningen.
The Triftfest will offer an entertainment program for adults, children and families. At 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., forestry workers will demonstrate how logs were moved from one place to another 160 years ago. It will be demonstrated how people used to transport wood from areas which were difficult to access.
The traditional bugle musicians will provide background music for the opening of the Triftfest.

During the annual drifting fest near Breitenbach pond, forest workers demonstrate the drifting of timber wood 160 years ago.

Adults and children will have fun with the bark boat race where participants have the chance to win prizes. Delights of grilled game, Palatinate specialties and drinks as well as coffee and cake will be served.
To keep the arrival without a car easy, the organizers established a cost-free shuttle service (eight seats) from Frankenstein to Leinbach Valley. The shuttle service will take the guests to the Triftfest in regular intervals. In Frankenstein there will be two bus stops (at the train station and Alter Postplatz). All bus stop areas will be signposted. It is not possible to go to the Triftfest by car.
