Last week at the Northside Post Office an individual in uniform was not wearing a hat. When approached and asked to put on a hat, the individual pointed up, indicating an overhang. However, AFI 36-2903 table 2.8 states headgear must be worn when in uniform outdoors. This includes overhangs and pavilions. No-hat areas must be designated as such by the installation commander. So, when outside in uniform wear a hat unless in an approved and marked “no-hat area.”
