Gate guards now scanning IDs

***image1***The Installation Access Control System is being implemented at base
access points to Ramstein, and gate guards are now scanning ID cards as
part of this process.

Anyone requiring unescorted access to the installation – to include
active-duty personnel, dependents, contractors, etc. – are encouraged
to register with IACS as soon as possible.

The 435th Security Forces Squadron offers four locations for DOD ID cardholders to register into IACS:
– Pass and Identification, in building 2111, open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
– Military Personnel Flight Customer Service, in building 2106, open
7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed daily from 11:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m.).
–West Gate Visitor Control Center, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
–The IACS registration office, located on the south end of building
2402 on Fairchild Avenue, is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Registration for NATO personnel and their family members will only be conducted at Pass and ID.

For DOD ID cardholders, registration takes approximately five minutes.
A parent or guardian must accompany family members under the age of 18.

Military personnel and their family members will need to have their DOD
ID card with them to be entered into the system. The card must have a
bar code, which is not faded or rubbed off.

If the bar code cannot be scanned, you will be required to contact the MPF for issue of a new ID card.

NATO personnel must have a USAFE Form 174 or USAFE Form 278 (Application for USAFE Privilege card).

Dependents of NATO personnel who have their sponsors passport/identity
card number listed on the USAFE Form 174 need to be in possession of
their passport/identity card.

The IACS enhances the physical security of military installations by
combining the use of installation passes, DOD ID cards and an
integrated electronic database to verify an individual is authorized
access to a base. This system is used by the Air Force and Army
throughout Germany.
Direct any questions concerning IACS to 480-2301.
