History Corner – September 8, 2023

Flags of NATO member nations are flown at half-staff in front of the Headquarters Allied Air Forces North building, Ramstein Air Base, Germany on 13 September 2001. They are flown in remembrance of lives lost during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York and at the Pentagon, when hijackers deliberately flew civilian airliners into the buildings, on the morning of 11 September 2001.
