IACS helps secure installations

The Installation Access Control System is used at base access points
throughout the KMC to help secure installations. Anyone requiring
unescorted access to the installation – including active-duty
personnel, dependents, contractors, etc. – must be registered in
IACS.  If you are not registered in IACS, you will not be able to
sign in visitors.

IACS enhances the physical security of military installations by
combining the use of installation passes, Department of Defense ID
cards and an integrated electronic database to verify an individual is
authorized access to a base. This system is used at Air Force and Army
installations throughout Germany.

As a reminder, the 435th Security Forces Squadron offers three
enrollment locations. The Installation Pass Office, Bldg. 2111, Room
138, is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Pass and
Identification, Bldg. 2111, Room 140, is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday. Registration for NATO personnel and their family
members will only be conducted at Pass and Identification.

The West Gate Visitor Control Center, Bldg. 134, is open 6 a.m. to 9
p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

For DOD ID cardholders, registration takes approximately five minutes.
A parent or guardian must accompany family members under the age of 18.
Military personnel and their family members must have their DOD ID card
with them to be entered into the system. The card must have a working
bar code (not faded or rubbed off).  If the bar code won’t scan,
you will be required to contact the MPF for a new ID card.

NATO personnel must have a U.S. Air Forces in Europe Form 174 or USAFE
Form 278 (Application for USAFE Privilege card). Dependents of NATO
personnel who have their sponsor’s passport/identity card number listed
on the USAFE Form 174 need to be in possession of their
passport/identity card.
