Potato market in Wallhalben
The traditional potato market in Wallhalben starts 1 p.m. Saturday. It includes a farmers and crafters market, craftsmanship demonstrations, tractor display, children’s activities and food specialties made of potatoes. The Duchess of Sickingen County gets elected and crowned at 5 p.m. A fire show takes place after musical entertainment at 10 p.m. The event continues 10:30 a.m. Sunday with an ecumenical worship service in the Protestant church and ends at 8:30 p.m. For details, visit www.grumbeeremarkt.de. — Courtesy photo
German-American day
The Docu Center Ramstein celebrates its 10th anniversary 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on its display area, Schernauer Strasse 46, in Ramstein-Miesenbach. At the same time, the Atlantic Academy and German-American and International Women’s Club recognize German-American Day. After the opening speech by Ralf Hechler, Ramstein mayor, DCR director Michael Geib presents 10 years of DCR in 10 minutes.
