KA wins USAFE media awards

The 2004 U.S. Air Forces in Europe media contest winners were announced Jan. 28 – the “Kaiserslautern American” won five awards, including Best Tabloid Newspaper.

Other KMC winners include Erin Zagursky, 435th Air Base Wing Public Affairs media relations chief, who won for Best Commentary; and 1st Lt. Tracy Giles, former 435th ABW/PA internal information chief, who won for Best Series.

Pvt. John Hudspeth, 21st Theater Support Command, placed second for photography by a contractor or stringer; and Airman Edward Drescher, KA staff writer, took third place for sports writing.

All USAFE winners now compete in the Air Force-level media contest.
Each year, the contest highlights the work of military journalists, graphic designers and photographers.
