The city of Kaiserslautern and the association of the vegetable and fruit market will hold its 11th annual vegetable and fruit market festival.
The annual event will take place Saturday, May 11, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Stiftsplatz around Stiftskirche. Opening comments will be given by Mayor Beate Kimmel at 11 a.m.
Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to sample a variety of different foods. The vegetable and fruit vendors offer pan-fried vegetables, quiche and fruit salad and the fish vendor will smoke and grill fresh fish. Additionally, the butchers will have grilled steaks and poultry ready, and a selection of different types of sausages can be enjoyed on a specially assembled feast plate.
In addition, a very special red wine or a glass of Prosecco is offered, with which the culinary delights can be experienced even better. International dishes such as a Mediterranean specialty plate round off the tasty and rich food offerings of the market vendors.
Entertainment is also well catered for at the festival. The small and smallest guests can expect a funny balloon artist, the universally popular face painting and also a bouncy castle. Musical entertainment is provided by the band Shaian.
Kaiserslautern InKlusiv in conjunction with “Aktion Mensch,” an association to support people with disabilities, invites market guests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to actively embrace inclusion in shaping our living environment. At a “brunch in color” and an inclusive giant memory, people with and without disabilities can get to know the actors.
Photos with the experiences around the day of action can be sent to the social wall of “Herzlich Digital,” at hashtag
