March 15
1:56 p.m.: An AAFES employee reported a shoplifter after witnessing a dependent select property and put the items in his pocket without paying. The dependent was advised of his legal rights.

March 16
12:40 p.m.: An Air Force NCO traveling at excessive speed for weather/road conditions lost control of his vehicle and hit a deer, causing disabling damages to his vehicle. The operator complained of whiplash and pain in his left shoulder.

3:17 p.m.: A local national struck a dependent’s vehicle with his trailer, causing scratches and dents to the driver’s side quarter panel on the dependent’s vehicle. The local national departed the scene without exchanging proper information or notifying authorities.

March 17
8:30 a.m.: An Air Force officer was on his bicycle traveling behind a local national in his tractor. The local national was attempting to turn when the officer attempted improper passing and struck the tractor. The officer was transported to LRMC for a broken left collarbone.

3:28 p.m.: A dependent was pulled over for a routine traffic stop and was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A urinalysis test was administered by Polizei with a positive result for THC. The dependent was released to security forces and advised of his legal rights.

March 18
12:49 a.m.: An Air Force officer was stopped by Polizei after being observed operating his vehicle in an erratic manner. Upon contact, Polizei detected the odor of alcohol. The officer was released to security forces and advised of his legal rights.

1:52 a.m.: A Soldier was stopped during a “Booze It and Lose It” checkpoint on Landstuhl Army Post. Upon contact, security forces detected the odor of alcohol.

2:22 p.m.:  A Soldier was reported as operating a USAREUR-plated vehicle with a suspended USAREUR license. The Soldier was advised of his legal rights.

March 19
3:13 a.m.: A dependent was stopped during a routine traffic stop by Polizei.  Upon contact, Polizei detected the odor of alcohol. The dependent was released to security forces and advised of his legal rights.

6:30 p.m.: An 86th SFS member reported seeing three individuals with binoculars on the west gate access road watching military aircraft and writing something in a
notebook.  Contact was made with the individuals and further investigation revealed they had previously stopped at Spangdahlem Air Base and recorded military aircraft as well.

March 20
4:25 p.m.: An Air Force NCO reported suspicious activity after an individual approached her and presented himself as a German education officer. The individual asked questions about the Air Force NCO’s personal identification and residence. The NCO said the individual was acting in a nervous manner, presented a U.S. passport and fled the scene quickly.

March 21
1:33 p.m.: A Soldier reported the theft of his motor vehicle after
someone stole it from a parking lot. There are no known suspects or
witnesses.

Barments
A family member’s employment was terminated and he was barred from U.S. military installations in Europe for his involvement in a shoplifting incident in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center and for misleading investigators.
