Closures
The KMC Housing Office as well as the Furnishings Management Section will be closed Monday in observation of the holiday. Customer service hours will resume July 5.


English-guided tour
The City of Kaiserslautern will offer a English-guided historical city walk at 10:30 a.m. Monday, 2 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 10. The tour includes the Count Palatinate Hall in the former Casimir Castle with subterranean tunnels, the old part of town, the city museum and Emperor’s fountain. Participants will meet at Tourist Information on Fruchthallstrasse 14. The fee is €5 for adults and €3.50 for children ages 6 to 11 years old. History of Americans
The 86th Force Support Squadron and Docu-Center Ramstein will present the “History of Americans in Rheinland-Pfalz” at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Vogelweh Library, Bldg. 2059, and 5 p.m. Wednesday at Ramstein Library, Bldg. 409. In “Part II: Lederhosen and Landstuhl Lovelies,” the history of entertainment in the U.S. clubs ever since the 1940s will be presented.


Change of command
The U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz is holding a change of command ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Daenner Kaserne. Col. Keith E. Igyarto will assume command of the garrison from Col. G. Shawn Wells, Jr.


UH superintendent job opening
The 86th Civil Engineer Squadron has a vacancy for the unaccompanied housing superintendent position. The UH superintendent oversees 13 Airmen dormitory leaders who manage 17 dormitories valued at $210 million and house over 1,300 Airmen across Ramstein and Kapaun.

The primary mission of the UH section is to:
• Provide a clean, safe and secure living environment for residents
• Manage day-to-day operations of permanent party UH facilities
• Determine eligibility, assign, terminate and maintain waiting lists for quarters
• Conduct initial, pre-final and final inspections
• Promote and implement quality-of-life improvements to dormitories
• Mentor residents and assist them in their adjustment to military life, development of military attitude and enhancement of social skills
• Ensure resident compliance with directives and military living standards
• Maintain open lines of communication between residents, first sergeants, commanders and wing leadership
• Duties as required in AFI 32-6005 and applicable supplements

UH Superintendent application criteria is as follows:
• Must be E-7
• Two years remaining on station
• Local commute within 30 minutes of Ramstein
• No selective re-enlistment bonus in current Air Force specialty code

• Current physical training assessment printout, minimum fitness score of 80 percent
• Last three enlisted performance reports
• Commander’s letter of recommendation

Retirement briefing

New hours
The Weilerbach administration office, town hall, has new operating hours. The citizen’s service office is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Fridays. The registry office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 6 p.m. Mondays and 8 a.m. to noon Tuesdays to Fridays. For more information, visit www.weilerbach.de.
