KMC TRICARE beneficiaries

By now, many people have received a letter welcoming them as a Tricare Standard beneficiary. This letter was part of a mass mailing from Tricare Management Activity to announce the start of the new Tricare Overseas Program contract award to International SOS, which began Sept. 1.

This letter was erroneously sent to many Tricare Prime beneficiaries; receiving the letter does not, in any way, change these patients’ Tricare health coverage.
Those members who are active duty or a command-sponsored dependent of an active-duty member are Tricare Prime and should disregard the letter.

Also, recent changes in the off-base referral process have overwhelmed the managed care processing system, causing delays in receiving patient referrals.
The Referral Management Center at Ramstein has been working diligently to eliminate all backlogged referrals.
