English Guided Tour in Kaiserslautern: The Tourist Information Kaiserslautern offers a guided tour through the Count Palatinate Hall with the subterranean tunnels Saturday, May 25. The tour will take you to the history and culture of the ancient times of “K-town.” It starts with a visit of the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards you descend to the subterranean tunnels. These passages are approx. 70 meters long. The tunnels are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating the history of Kaiserslautern. The tour starts at 11:15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information (Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). Participation fee is 5 euro for adults and 3.50 euro for children from 6 to 11 years. Culinary Hike in Erpolzheim: The culinary hike in Erpolzheim near the German Wine Street takes place for the 18th time Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, May 26 and lures thousands of visitors every year. The circular route has a length of approx. 3.7 miles. One part of the trail leads through the romantic wine village and the other part through blooming fruit groves and lush green vineyards. Along the hiking trail 14 booths and stands offer asparagus dishes and other specialties as well as local wines. Vintners, restaurants and fruit farmers cater for the visitors in their yards next to the trail. The event starts at 11 a.m. on both days. Participation is free! Re-Opening of Imsbach Mining World: The Mining World of Imsbach reopens on Sunday, May 26 at 11 a.m. Visitors can see traces of the early mining activities and travel back in time by exploring the Grube Maria (Maria Mine). The Palatinate Mining Museum includes an extensive collection of beautiful minerals and a special exhibition about quartz. Regular opening hours of the Mining World of Imsbach and the Palatinate Mining Museum are Sundays and German holidays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Groups and school classes can arrange individual appointments for an English guided tour with the Winnweiler Tourist Information at 06302-60261. Take a Ride with the Börrstadt Garden Model Railroad: The Börrstadt Garden Railroad fascinates children as well as diehard railroad fans. It is the only model railroad on a scale of 1:5 that has a passenger transportation license nationwide. Take an amusing ride through the park area including a train station, signal tower, tunnel, bridge and a railroad crossing next to the Börrstadt community center! KMC OnStage Presents Freckleface Strawberry: Bring the whole family out to enjoy the musical that is based on the cherished New York Times best-selling book by Julianne Moore. With the help of her lovable classmates who range from everything from a talented ballerina, the class ditz, even the cute jock boy, Freckleface learns that everyone has their unique thing and that is what makes everyone special. Women’s World Cup Soccer at Halftime Sports Bar & Wings: Join your friends at Halftime Sports Bar & Wings for the eighth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Asperger’s are Us at Halftime Sports Bar & Wings: On June 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Exceptional Family Member Program brings the stars of a hit Netflix documentary to Halftime Sports Bar & Wings for a free comedy show! Asperger’s Are Us is the world’s first comedy troupe comprised entirely of men on the autism spectrum. In addition to being hilarious, their unique performances highlight the value of neurodiversity – people who have different ways of thinking and processing the world, and in this case, different ways of making us laugh. The Rock Superstar Karaoke Competition: So you wanna be “The Rock” superstar? Now until to June 8, our weekly karaoke programs at Pinsetter’s Pub on Fridays and Tavern on the Rock on Saturdays will be hosting a reality-show-style competition! Perform for the judges in any of our qualifying events for a chance to compete in our Finale competition on June 8. Competition is for solo performers only, not groups or duets. The judge panelists will have score sheets for each contestant grading for pitch, timing, appearance, and overall showmanship. No cover. 3k Family Color Fun Run: Keystone Club is hosting our annual 3K Family Color Fun Run on June 13 from noon-5pm with a BBQ following. This unique running experience features a rainbow of powder showering runners at various intervals, plus a light pace and distance perfect for the whole family. Celebrate World Watercolor Month with the Arts & Crafts Center: July is World Watercolor Month and the Arts & Crafts Center on Smith Barracks has a whole month of amazing activities planned to celebrate! During normal business hours you can simply walk in and for $4 each, create a fan, lantern, boat or pinwheel project from painting to assembly. Watercolor painting projects available are butterfly, zebra, bird, leaf flowers and sea animals. Want to make it a family event? July 18 & 19 will be Family Night where the whole family (up to four people) will get to pick a project each for $12.
