McQuistion to relinquish command Thursday


Maj. Gen. Patricia McQuistion will relinquish command of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command to Brig. Gen. Aundre F. Piggee during a change of command ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Thursday on the NCO Field on Daenner Kaserne.

Two years after taking command of the 21st TSC, McQuistion will depart the KMC and Germany to become the commanding general of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command in Rock Island, Ill. The ASC, which supports Army, joint and coalition forces, is a global organization charged with providing front-line logistics support to combat units. It provides sustainment level logistics by synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology support from the strategic through the operational to the tactical level.

Piggee, served as the deputy assistant chief of staff for logistics with United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea before coming to the 21st TSC.

The logistics staff at USFK is responsible for all logistics required to support the USFK mission during armistice, crisis and contingencies as well as for establishing policies, procedures for transportation, munitions, petroleum, logistics readiness and planning, mortuary affairs, maintenance, and medical.

Due to the number of available parking spaces, invited guests must have their parking permits. All entry roads to Daenner Kaserne will be manned by force protection personnel who will direct and facilitate traffic and parking access.
