First Sergeants’ corner
“Who has your six?” is a question we all should be able to answer.
The word “six” refers to who “has your back” or, in Air Force terms, who is your wingman. All too often, we encounter situations large and small not knowing who our wingmen are.

Recently, an Airman was a designated driver for a few
co-workers who were out celebrating. The designated driver decided to have a drink early in the night since they were going to be at the party for a few hours. Time elapsed, they departed the party and as they got closer to their destination, the driver got selected for a random traffic stop. The driver was over the legal limit and was processed for a DUI. This is a story that happens all too often.
You make the call in determining who “has your six.”
