Military Saves Campaign helps military families

The Department of Defense Financial Readiness Military Saves Campaign 2010 focuses on helping military families start small, think big and handle money responsibly.

Sunday to Feb. 28 is designated the 2010 Military Saves Campaign Week. The kickoff event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Ramstein Community Center, Bldg. 412, with fun and prizes for all.

Military Saves is on-going throughout the year. The campaign is a part of the America Saves Campaign and enrollment is 24/7 on www.militarysaves.org.
The Airman & Family Readiness Center and local banks have partnered to promote savings in the community. Several events are planned throughout the week, including a financial trivia on AFN radio throughout the morning and afternoon broadcasts Monday through Thursday.

Calendar of events: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, kickoff at Ramstein Community Center with lunch and information. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to Feb. 26, Lunch-n-Learn Series at A&FRC. Monday to Feb. 26, “Money, money, money” – financial facts quiz game on AFN.

The community readiness consultants are available to conduct training in unit for budget, debt management and savings and investing. For details, call the A&FRC at 480-5100.
