Elizabeth Caddy Stanton, along with her close friend Susan B. Anthony, founded the National Woman Suffrage Association in 1868. After the “Women’s Right to Vote” victory in 1920, Alice Paul authored the Equal Rights Amendment and initiated gender equality in both the United Nations Charter and in the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
