Project Rudolph was started last year as a way to provide a bit of holiday cheer the week before Christmas to troops transitioning downrange through the Ramstein Passenger Terminal, said Tawny Archibald Campbell, founder of Project Rudolph,
“These bags consist of a hand-decorated brown paper bag, non-breakable Christmas ornament, hand-written letters by adults and children, the poem ‘A Soldier’s Christmas,’ a candy cane and American and German candy,” said Ms. Archibald Campbell.

Bags were given to Sailors, staff, LRMC patients, families in the Ramstein Inn, and security forces working on the holiday.

“It was so nice to find a note with such a warm greeting,” said Amaro Flores-Marquez, recipient of a holiday gift bag last year. “I will keep it to remind myself of good will during the holiday season.”

This year, Project Rudolph volunteers hope to give 3,000  bags, not only in the KMC area, but to more than 500 military members downrange.

“Even the little things over the holidays can make a huge difference to our service men and women who spend the holidays away from home,” said Ms. Archibald Campbell.

Project Rudolph will put together 1,000 more bags on Dec. 15. For more information, visit www.projectrudolph.homestead.com.
