***image1***The mentoring program at Kaiserslautern American High School is headed by teacher, Marcy Bond. Mrs. Bond believes learning extends outside the classroom and has worked diligently with students and mentors to establish a program to achieve this goal.

Principal Jennifer Beckwith and Mrs. Bond, recently met with mentors at KAHS, who are interested in volunteering their time. When asked why mentoring was important, Master Sgt. Evan Baumhofer said: “Throughout my career I have noticed no matter what measure of success a person had attained, he or she benefited from mentorship. From enlisted to general to senior executive – all had sought out a mentor. I always had someone to go to for advice, now at this stage in my life, I think it is important to give back.  I reap some measure of fulfillment knowing my experiences can help guide a young person towards their own success.”

Tech. Sgt. Rebecca Bench agrees.
