Every two years, Ramstein-Miesenbach’s businesses and shops hold an industrial fair to show off their services and present themselves. The 13th service show will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“This year’s event will also highlight the 20th anniversary of Ramstein-Miesenbach getting its town rights in April 1991,” said Stefan Layes from the Ramstein-Miesenbach union community office.

About 80 exhibitors and shop owners will present their merchandise and services in the city hall, the Haus des Bürgers and in the car-free center of town around Marktplatz and the museum.

“After being very successful in the past, we hope our visitors again will appreciate the diverse themes being highlighted such as health, gardening, renovation, interior accessories and energy conservation,” said Joe Felka, chief of the organization committee.

A car show displaying vehicles of various brands will be set up on Spesbacher, Landstuhler und Steinwendener Strasse.

“A stage in front of the Haus des Bürgers will lure visitors with an entertaining musical program on both days,” Mr. Layes said.

Various stands on Marktplatz will be available to serve a variety of culinary specialties.

Children can watch a magician show off his skills in the early afternoon of both days. The Kolping family will offer cake and coffee and face painting for children in the Haus des Bürgers.

Twenty-five stores, including one grocery store, will open their doors Sunday.
The fair will be conducted in cooperation with the Landstuhl promotion association.

“Hopefully, many people will come to visit our fair and get advice from experts,” Mr. Felka said. “By the way, admission to the fair is free.”

A representative of the Depart-ment of Commerce, Ramstein-Miesenbach’s Mayor Klaus Layes and the chief of the local advertising association, Ralf Hechler, will officially open the fair at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Some streets in the center of town will be closed to motorized traffic.
