Rheinland-Pfalz Bicycle Tour starts final stage Sunday in Kaiserslautern

The area around the Kaiserslautern Rathaus (city hall) and the parking lots next to Barbarossa Castle and Rathaus Nord will close to motorized traffic at 7 a.m. Sunday.

Participants of the International Rheinland-Pfalz Bicycle Tour come there to sign in for their last stage leading from Kaiserslautern to Koblenz. Also their helpers, organization members, 15 buses and trucks and about 80 privately owned vehicles will meet between 9 and 10 a.m. near the city hall. Teams from eight European countries start their fifth and final stage at 11:15 a.m. at the Rathaus to drive on B270 to Otterbach, then on L389 and L382 to Otterberg, Schneckenhausen, Schallodenbach, Niederkirchen toward Kirn.

Streets will close half an hour prior to being reached by tour members. Also, observe the no parking signs on some streets. (Information provided by Kaiserslautern City administration office).
